This course is a presentation of the different approaches and related methods the disciplines used in urban studies. Through this we try to provide the students with a basis for understanding and discussing their mutual relations and their possible inter-linkages. At the end of the course, you are expected to be able to
- understand the basic assumptions of the different approaches used in the field,
- choose the one you want to specialize in in your later studies (the electives),
- have sensible discussions over the limits of different types of data and their limits, over the borders of the one you have chosen as your own.
The course takes place in Urbarium, on Wednesday afternoons, at 13.15-16.45 (from September 14th to December 12th, no lectures on the October 24th).
