USP-300 named “USP goes to China” is an elective course offered by the Urban Studies and Planning Master’s Programme. Students who registered conducted preliminary research about the city of Haikou, in Hainan Province in China. A group of teachers accompanies students to a fieldtrip to the Luoyi village outside Haikou to conduct fieldwork during three intensive days. At the end of these days students will present their first iterations on the site, its challenges, needs and opportunities for sustainable development. Upon return to Finland students will continue their work and produce exhibitable results.
