Personal Study Plan

All  USP students should make a personal study plan (PSP) during their first Autumn semester.  In their PSP, students plan how they intend to progress in their studies. The PSP will help the students to:

  • define goals in terms of studies and future career
  • plan studies systematically
  • recognise and develop skills.

The personal study plans can be modified throughout studies and will be re-checked by responsible teachers annually. PSP is an important tool and for the benefit of, first and foremost, the students themselves.

You can browse courses in both UH and Aalto WebOodi as well as check the course schedules through the USP Spring calendar.

Please read the instructions carefully on how to make your PSP according to your home university. Return your PSP before December 15th.

The Personal Study Plan is made using the SIS planning tool. You can access the SIS tool through this link or through the front page of your “My Studies” (plan your studies).

Students send their PSP to their tutoring teacher who check and comment the plans. Your tutoring teacher is determined according to your target degree (see the list below). Since the SIS tool is still a beta version at UH, please also return your PSPs in the PSP 2018 Moodle site to be saved. You can collect the chosen courses in a word/PDF document (also take screen shots).

You can also book an appointment to Katariina (20-minute slots) via VIHTA. Select (All UH students): Faculty of Science -> Councelling in Degree Programs -> Kumpula Master’s Programme in USP (see screen capture below).
